PlayBowls Terms of Service for
Users

Thank you for
using PlayBowls!
These Terms of Service
are a commitment between you and Bowls England that govern your right to use
the websites, applications and other offerings from PlayBowls.
PlayBowls
offers an online platform to enable participants to search for and book bowls
experiences. Under this agreement, end
users who book these experiences are called ‘participants’, and users who
upload their club details are called ‘clubs’.
As the provider
of the PlayBowls system, Bowls England does not own, control, offer or manage
any clubs or listings.
Bowls England
are not party to the agreements entered into directly by the participant or
club. We do maintain other terms and policies that supplement these terms and
they are available from our website www.play-bowls.com.
1.
Participant
responsibilities
As a
participant you should ensure:
a.
that
the booking information which you submit is correct at the time of booking.
b.
that
you and the members of your group act in accordance with the bowls club rules
and policies.
c.
that
you and the members of your group arrive in good time for your allocated
PlayBowls session.
d.
that
you should contact the club as soon as possible, if you are running late. Please note: that PlayBowls sessions are
subject to availability and there is no guarantee that the club will be able to
accommodate a new PlayBowls session should you miss your scheduled arrival time.
e.
that
you are able to provide proof of booking and payment if requested.
f.
that
any special requirements are communicated to the club in advance of the
PlayBowls session.
g.
that
you check the condition of the bowls green on the day in advance of your
PlayBowls session to ensure that you reasonably consider the green to be open
and playable.
As a
participant you accept that:
h.
the
bowls club has discretion to refuse entry, or request you and the members of
your group to leave, should one of the group not be adhering to the bowls club
rules.
i.
owing
to local conditions, some and/or all of the rinks may be closed or have
restrictions in order to maintain the good condition of the green.
j.
where
you have complaints these should be directed to the bowls club in the first
instance for resolution.
k.
PlayBowls
has no control over the actions of the bowls club.
2.
Platform
Rules
a.
All
users of PlayBowls must follow these rules and must not help or induce others
to break or circumvent these rules (either on the platform, or during the
booking process):
i. Act with integrity and treat everyone
with respect.
ii. Do not lie, misrepresent something or
someone, or pretend to be someone else.
iii. Be polite and respectful when you
communicate or interact with others.
iv. Do not use discriminatory,
offensive, defamatory, or other inappropriate language.
v. Do not discriminate against or harass
others.
vi. Do not hack, compromise or impair the
PlayBowls system.
vii. Do not take any action that might adversely
affect PlayBowls.
viii.
Do
not use externally owned content, such as imagery, unless you have the
permission of the owner.
ix. Understand and abide by all laws and
policies that apply to you.
x. Adopt the ‘Safeguarding in Bowls’
policies that can be found here.
xi. Do not use the name, logo, branding or
trademarks of Bowls England, PlayBowls, or Bowls Bash without the relevant permission.
xii. Any reviews provided must be accurate.
xiii.
Accounts
should be managed by users of the age of 18 or above.
3.
Cancellations
a.
Once
bookings are submitted, unless otherwise stated, you are not eligible to change
or cancel the booking and no refunds are provided.
b.
If
you are trying to change your booking, please contact the club in the first
instance. There is no guarantee that the club will agree to the request.
c.
If
for any reason the green is unplayable and the club need to cancel or rearrange
a booking, the liability of PlayBowls is limited. Participants will receive a credit (to the
same value, for use at the same club) against their next booking. This will be in the form of a voucher code
and must be used within six (6) months of being issued.
d.
If
for any reason you are unable to book a new session with the same club you
should send details of the circumstances to playbowls@bowlsengland.com who
will attempt to resolve the situation, but will face no liability if unable to
do so.
4.
Fees
and payments
a.
Unless
stated otherwise, payments for PlayBowls must be made in advance by an accepted
credit or debit card through the website.
b.
Prices
for PlayBowls sessions will be as quoted on the website.
c.
Unless
stated otherwise, you should not make any additional payments for your
PlayBowls session when you arrive at the bowls club. If you are required to
make a payment for your PlayBowls session at the club, you should contact Bowls
England immediately. We are unable to assist if you have already made the
payment.
5.
Complaints
We are
committed to providing excellent customer service.
a.
If
you have any complaints regarding the session these should be directed to the
bowls club in the first instance for resolution.
b.
If
the complaint is not resolved, or if your complaint relates to the service provided
by the PlayBowls platform, please email playbowls@bowlsengland.com and we
will use reasonable endeavours to assist.
c.
If
you believe any club has violated any PlayBowls terms or policies you should
report your concerns to Bowls England.
d.
If
any party breaches these terms, PlayBowls reserves the right to:
i. Suspend or limit access to the PlayBowls
platform.
ii. Suspend or remove availability.
iii. Suspend or remove content and reviews.
iv. Reassign bookings to other clubs.
6.
Amendments
a.
PlayBowls
and Bowls England reserve the right to revise any terms (to include those
contained within this document), fees and policies associated with the
PlayBowls platform at any time and without notice.
